Family History Project
Something happens as you grow older - for me it has been increased reflection on my past, which has fostered in me a desire to preserve the stories and memories of my ancestors before they are lost. As I have lost great-grandparents and grandparents, I have suddenly realized that with each loss, there are so many stories that are lost. I think on my own children and how they will not know my grandparents or great-grandparents like I did, and I want to preserve and pass along to my children something of these people who have been so special to me.
I recently began a family history project, part of which involved scanning in old family photos. It brought to my mind the scripture in Malachi 4:5-6 "Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse." As I looked into the eyes of my ancestors, there began to grow in me a desire to learn more about them and to come and know who they were and are. My heart began to turn to my fathers and this scripture began to take on new meaning for me.
I decided that I would put together a biographical page for each of the following people, in the hopes that it will help serve as a means for me to share something of the people who have been so special to me.
